Lincoln Cathedral Skills Festival

The Weavers Company was represented at the Lincoln Cathedral Skills Festival, supported by the Lord Mayor, which gave 24 Livery Companies an opportunity to demonstrate their still flourishing skills which were used to build the Cathedral 600 years ago.  The Upper Bailiff and his wife, Michelle, took a working loom, exhibited the Company’s Chaplain’s Cope and had live silk worms on show.  Their two days of labour at the loom produced almost 4 metres of Lincoln Green Irish Poplin in silk and wool which was auctioned off and presented to the Royal School of Needlework.
